Doctoral Research: Rethinking the Vehicle as a Conscious Experience
My research is a speculative and critical practice that asks: what is the future of the individual vehicle
when we prioritise human experience over mere functionality?
I am prototyping a new archetype a vehicle conceived not as a transport module, but as a personal,
evolving space.
It is compact, modular, and defined by material honesty, where traces of time and repair are part of its character.
The goal is to restore a sense of joy, autonomy, and tangible connection often lost in today's complex, screen-
dominated cabins.
This work is a fundamental extension of my design practice:
applying the principles of fluent interaction and emotional resonance beyond the digital interface
to the very fabric of mobility itself.
Utilising generative AI and hands-on prototyping, I explore the intersection of sustainable systems,
conscious craftsmanship, and visceral human experience.
The outcome is a drivable proposition a catalyst for dialogue about how we want to live, move,
and feel in the cities of tomorrow.
